Another look
at Toyota using lean
manufacturing
The benefits Toyota has had using the lean method:
Toyota, who began the lean manufacturing efforts, has realized significant benefits from their programs.
One of the most important benefits they publish is the improved quality of their product. As a comparison, the warranty cost for each Toyota vehicle averages $75. The average cost of American automobile manufacturers is $600 per car (Strong, 2001).
It would certainly seem that American car manufacturers could benefit significantly from implementing such a program. So could the American consumer.
